Working Cow Ready for Expansion in Pinellas
Tim Pappas, President of Working Cow Homemade, and Livi Blanco, Assistant Vice President, accepted the "Thank You for Doing Business in Pinellas" recognition award on May 10th from the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners. Working Cow Homemade has been in the business of making super premium ice cream since 1993, and is looking toward continued expansion in Pinellas County.
 
"I'd like to thank Pinellas County for this honor," said Tim Pappas, President of Working Cow Homemade.  "We've found great support here for over 20 years from our wholesale and retail customers, as well as the business community. We're looking forward to growing our business in Pinellas."

Costa Rica Trade Mission Generates $12.1M in Projected Export Sales

Leaders of the  Tampa Bay Export Alliance, a cooperative effort of Pinellas County Economic Development and the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation, shared the outcomes of last month's joint trade mission to San José, Costa Rica, which took place from April 12-15. 
 
"The trade mission to Costa Rica was one that allowed the Tampa Bay region to shine across sectors," said Mike Meidel, Director of Pinellas County Economic Development.  "We were encouraged to see companies in industries from pharmaceuticals and manufacturing to fuel management and authentic craft brewing joining us for this mission and finding a receptive market for their products and services."
 
Fourteen companies participated in the U.S. Commercial Service's Gold Key Matching Service. The program provides customized one-on-one meetings with companies in Costa Rica. The Gold Key companies, which conducted more than 70 meetings with potential customers, reported 116 sales leads and $12.1 million in actual and expected export sales. Click to read more...

Two Invitations to Bid to Purchase Property in Pinellas County
Pinellas County is offering a rare opportunity to purchase vacant land in Indian Rocks Beach, directly across the street from the Gulf of Mexico.  The three parcels offered for sale are located on the east side of Gulf Boulevard between 23rd and 24th Avenues North. The 0.83 acre site is rectangular in shape and has 300 feet of road frontage along Gulf Boulevard.  This is a very attractive prospect for a mixed-use development that could incorporate commercial and residential uses.

Pinellas County is offering vacant residential land located in a non-evacuation area in mid-county. Nine parcels ranging from .155 to .352 acres are for sale. This is a high and dry location, close to the intracoastal waterway and Gulf of Mexico beaches. It is walking distance to the recreation center, parks, the Pinellas Trail and PSTA bus stop. Pinellas County seeks input on US 19 corridor
Pinellas County is conducting economic, demographic and market analyses on the US 19 corridor from Curlew Road to just north of East Klosterman Road. This study will help inform the need for future action plans to address transportation, land use, economic and community-identified issues and opportunities in this portion of unincorporated Pinellas County. Residents are encouraged to visit the study's website at www.pinellascounty.org/Plan/US_19.htm for more information and to submit ideas, questions or concerns about the corridor study. As the study progresses, updates and information will be added to the website, and there will be additional opportunities for community involvement.
