Ms. Lisa Goettel, Senior Vice President of Human Relations at PODS, accepted the award on behalf of the company. PODS is a leader in the moving and storage industry providing both residential and commercial services in 46 U.S. states, Canada, Australia and the UK through its 79 franchises. The company employs 1,300 employees around the world and approximately 630 in Pinellas County. Draper's Rapid Prototyping Lab Ribbon Cutting

Connections in Costa Rica
Representatives of the Tampa Bay Export Alliance conducted a joint sales mission to San José, Costa Rica April 12 -15. A delegation of forty Tampa Bay business leaders spent several days in the capital city with the goal of developing commercial relationships and increasing trade opportunities with Costa Rica. The Latin American nation is ranked as the sixth largest trading partner for Florida and a heavy consumer market. "We're very pleased by the response and participation of our regional business exporters to this, our third mission for the Tampa Bay Export Alliance," shared Mike Meidel, Director of Pinellas County Economic Development. "This alliance is about our local businesses and how we can help them grow sales through exports to new markets, expand their companies and create new high-wage jobs in our communities." Four Pinellas Companies to Present at the 2016 Florida Early Stage Capital Conference, May 17
Pinellas companies Alakai Defense Systems, Inc.., KynderMed, RankMiner Predictive Analytics, and TAO Connect, Inc. have been selected to present at this year's Florida Venture Forum Early Stage Conference. Presenters were selected from a pool of approximately 100 applicants by a committee of active Florida venture capitalists and other investors, and will present to an audience of investors. In addition to company presentations, the Conference will feature a total of $150,000 in cash awards presented to the first, second and third place winning companies, provided by Space Florida.
