Museum Shop
|
The Museum Shop is using Melchers-era storefronts as its 2013 muse.
Above is a traditional French wooden bowl used for making bread and a baguette board ready for slicing. These pieces are made from 19th century timber, salvaged from old buildings throughout Europe. Each piece is 100% sustainable and hand finished in natural beeswax and food grade mineral oils.

Grants Help Fund Conservation Projects
Gari Melchers Home and Studio receives no annual university or state funding for the care and preservation of the museum collections - including artworks, furnishings, archival materials and the formal gardens.
All conservation and restoration work must be supported by private donations and grants. Since the beginning of the fiscal year last July, the following private foundations have generously contributed to collection-conservation projects.
Fredericksburg Savings Charitable Foundation
Garden Club of Virginia, Restoration Committee
Garland and Agnes Taylor Gray Foundation
Duff McDuff Green, Jr. Fund of The Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region
Gwathmey Memorial Trust
Dr. Helen Stewart Jones Trust
Peachtree House Foundation
Margaret Walker Purinton Foundation
Roller-Bottimore Foundation
We are grateful for the generosity of these supporters, without which the museum's holdings would not receive the attention and care necessary to preserve them for future visitors.
