Meet our head counselors - Alumni updates - "Free Play" Day

Camp Tevya, May 2016
Learn what's happening at camp
& how you can connect!

Like most of our campers, I spent the off-season counting down the days until I move to camp. I am lucky because I move in a little earlier than others: in just 2 weeks I will be back in 03033.

Besides checking the calendar, this off-season I also had: the joy of checking in on the progress of construction... a feeling of inspiration as I thought about the legacies and generosity of those in our community... and deep thanks for our volunteer leaders who do so much so connect us to each other.

I invite you to read about all this and more in my letter, A Season of Changes, on the Tevya blog. And scroll down for lots of news!

Meet our Head Counselors

What makes Tevya such a warm and inclusive community? Our amazing team! All the head counselors attended Camp Tevya or another Cohen Camp as campers themselves--and they are super-excited for summer!

New Waterski Docks & more

New waterski docks will get installed on June 1. Construction is going strong on the new
duplex bunk in Boys Area (between Bunks 4 and 5). Our 9th and 10th graders will get to take part in the new Bogrim Leadership Program, supplementing their existing hands-on leadership opportunities through great new weekly training led by our staff.
DLD Thank you_
This summer in Jerusalem!

Each year, the Dor L'Dor Israel Leadership Program caps
our oldest campers' Cohen Camps experience. This year, 115 teens will travel to Israel, then to camp. Thank you to the many DLD Friendship Fund donors who met and exceeded our scholarship goal! Seven of our college-age staff are wrapping up their DLD/Onward Israel internships before camp. And the DLD 2016 Adult Trip will explore Israel for 10 days with a full bus starting in late June!

Host an International Staffer

Could you offer a "home base" to welcome one or two of Tevya's international staff on their days off? Our wonderful staff love to explore New England and meet local families. They just need a friendly smile and a place to stay. It's easy, fun and rewarding! Organized by Lisa Becker Fishman, Tevya alum and parent.

These words speak to our hearts, in every Tevya generation:

Amid verdant woodlands,
Beneath pure azure skies,
Protected by mountains,
Our own Tevya lies.
She stands in her beauty,
Blue waters by her side,
A part of G-d's country,
Majestic and dignified.
Camp Tevya we will pledge to thee,
Our everlasting loyalty.
We offer you our strength
Our love forever more.
With faith in our purpose,
With strength to achieve our aim,
We'll strive for Camp Tevya,
Bring glory to her name.
