We'll also tell you about how our company will be giving back to our communities this year, by helping two local organizations outfit young children to stay warm this winter.

A New Holiday Program to Warm Little Hearts and Hands
We decided to change up our holiday program to connect with our communities in a different way. For many years, we organized a stocking stuffer donation program. This year, we will be donating 10 full sets of winter gear for kids - five each to two organizations - Children's Clothes Closet (3C's) in Panora and New Opportunities in Guthrie Center. Each year, these two organizations assist hundreds of children in our county and the surrounding area to outfit them for daily clothing needs. The winter months always bring additional needs, as many families cannot afford durable, warm winter clothing for their growing children. Both 3C's and New Opportunities accept new and gently used clothing and outdoor gear, so if you would like to help a child this winter, consider donating to help warm little hearts and hands!

Mobile Banking is Coming to GCSB!
2014 is the year of mobile banking and person-to-person payments at Guthrie County State Bank. We are working closely with our banking technology partner to complete the platforms that will enable you to manage your banking through your smartphone or tablet. Would you like to be one of the first GCSB customers to use the mobile banking platform? We are looking for volunteers to be a part of our pilot user group. If you are interested, please email us at contact@gcsbank.com for more information.

Connecting Communities Promotion Winners
In our first newsletter in August, we announced our Connecting Communities promotion, designed to highlight our online banking services, e-statements and improved communication tools including our website and this e-newsletter. More than 250 people entered the contest to win one of two Apple® iPad® 4th Generation 16GB with Retina™ display + Wi-Fi. The lucky winners were Joe Weisz of Panora and Alyssa Jones of Overland Park, KS, previously a resident of Guthrie Center.

Now that the harvest is winding down, farmers that may have put off 2014 decisions on inputs and financing will need to make plans and decisions quickly. Just a reminder to contact Dale Behrends, Vice President, Guthrie County State Bank, to discuss lines of credit, agriculture mortgages and estate planning. Dale has many years of experience advising farmers just like you and is here to help.
