Mountain Innovation: Porsche and BMW in Ski Lift Design

As a part of the ski resort's positioning project "Mountain Revolution", Laax (CH) just installed their newest ski lift designed by Porsche Design Studios. Some innovative features are:
- Solar panels on the backside of each chair that provide for heated seats
- Each 6-seater chair turns 45 degrees after departure, allowing the passengers to fully enjoy the scenery
- Fast as a Porsche: with the speed of 6 m/s the lift's capacity increased by 20%

Then we turn to Austria, where ski resort Hochzillertal/Kaltenbach took another aproach to ski lift innovation. BMW , a long time partner of the skiresort, developed a BMW 7-series inspired gondola:
- 7-series seats including massage function
- arm-rest with iDrive
- soundsystem & TV screen and of course...
- champagne glass- and bottle storage.
