Update on Loni's fire
News from the South Pacific Islands

The room burns that Loni's family lived in

Loni and his family are
blessed by your support

There have been a lot of donations since the fire. [ read about the fire ]
And a lot of prayer too.
Thank you so very much

After the fire, Loni, Fane and their children set up home on the concrete verandah (patio) of the house they were staying in. Under a tarp, with a borrowed generator to give them power and light.

The Akolo Family
The 'Akolo family
(Loni and Fane and their three girls rent their house. Recently they had to give up their rental and were staying in an upstairs room at Fane's parents' home while their next rental was coming available.)

Here is a message from Loni -
Thank you very much for praying for us and giving for us. My family really appreciate the love, prayer, and your concern for us during this hard time.
Right now we are still (and I think it will take a while) coping with the feeling of loosing everything we treasure but we really thank God that He is our refuge and He is our strong tower PTL.
I'm planning to get back to work next week for a few reason but the main is our leaders retreat is coming in March. Because I have lost every resources I think I have to get  back now to prepare for the retreat.

Please pray:
1. For the home group as we start next week. Pray that God gran them a heart that truly seek and hunger for His word.

2. For the leaders retreat that will take place in March 7-9. Pray that His spirit will strongly influence our heart as we focus on Him and looking back at us and also the mission that He entrust us to do.

3. For the financial need for the retreat. Pray that God will provide.

4. For my daughter. I think that what happen influence them. Every day as they are ready to go to school they are crying. They always want us to be around them even when they go to school. I think they have fear. Pray that God deliver them.

Thank you for prayer and your care.

This is typical of Loni! Three quarters of his prayer requests are focused on meeting the ministry needs for other people.

So much help so far, but can I

ask you something else?

Few in the islands understand the need for pastoral care and biblical discipleship at the level Loni and Fane are functioning. They are developing strong local leaders, but there is nobody (not even local pastors) who function at their level of ministry.
Their ministry is a lonely place for them.

Would you please consider
emailing encouragement
to Loni and Fane.
[ email Loni ] A Bible verse, a prayer, a sentence of encouragement would mean so much. Please understand if it takes a while for Loni to reply in his circumstances.

And I apologize
to non-USA donors
who had trouble donating through our web site. We have since added an extra page to help non-USA donors make a donation.

We are still accepting donations for Loni and Fane
to help them get back on to their feet as a family.
