Loni has lost almost everything
News from the South Pacific Islands
08 Feb 2014

I got Loni's email
and took his call at the same time

His brief email read - "Toni house was on fire (where we stay) just now fire people is still around all our stuff (my family) everything is gone we will start from scratch next week please pray for us."

Loni Akolo is our discipleship and pastoral care leader in Tonga. As well as training the leaders of our many discipleship groups, Loni and his wife, Fane, minister together to help many couples and families find God's way for their relationships and lives

Loni was in shock when I spoke with him.

He and Fane were doing the laundry outside and thankfully, their girls Asena (14yrs), Chastity (7yrs) and Grace (5yrs) were also playing outside, so no-one was harmed.

They have lost almost everything.

All they have left tonight are the clothes they are wearing, plus Loni's van, cell phone, laptop and Bible (which were in his van).

People live pretty simply and there is no insurance in the Islands, so Loni and Fane will have to start over from scratch. But their most pressing issue is where will they sleep tonight?

Please pray for them.

  • They need a place to stay .
  • They will need clothes and all the items it takes to run a household.
  • They will also need money.

Thank you for praying.

Can I also ask to you to
please consider making a donation
to help them get back on to their feet as a family?

Click to donate

Part way down the donation page is a "Special Purpose" section where you can click "Select an Option" and choose the option "Support for Loni (Tonga)"
  • Loni and Fane have worked tirelessly for many years serving Tonga's families.
  • Now they need our help.
  • Let's do our best for them.

God bless you!
