Happy New Year!

I hope all of you have had a joyous New Year's celebration! Now we all have a clean slate right?

As we all begin this New Year, an approach to celebrate oneself is beneficial to keep a healthy mind and body.

Healthy Regards,

  Love Yourself

Once a day, preferably as soon as you awake, start by dedicating 5 - 10 minutes of your day to take yourself away from the bustle and hustle of this fast-paced world - induce activities that calm you down such as meditation, prayer or even sitting still and letting your mind be. This can be particularly hard if we have never had to do this. Finding a time that works for you is key. Other ideas that might be helpful are to pair this at the end of lunch time, set a timer and take a break in the middle of the afternoon, or even in the car before you leave work or right before picking the kids up. This break can help bring some clarity, de-stress and receive a much needed break. I promise it is well worth it!

Have positivity in the midst of negativity - knowing that you have positives in your life makes living life easier. Did you know that it takes 3 positive statements to overcome a negative one? Try to be grateful for all you have and find positive in life's challenges, it helps enduring them much better. We all have challenges that happen in our life. It is not what happens to us that matters, but how we handle it. Using food to handle these circumstances is never a way that will benefit you.
  Satisfaction

If your body is craving something, try to eat moderate amounts and savor each bite. Savor the color, texture, temperature and degree of the food's sweetness or saltiness. Notice how the flavor of mouth and the mouth feel change the longer it is in your mouth.
  Happy Holidays 2013

We should each think of the many blessings in our life for which we are grateful

I appreciate each of you who impact and touch some part of my life and for that I am thankful

So take care of your health, body, mind and soul

Don't let everyday stressors take their toll

One way to start is by eating a nutrient rich meal

This affects long term health, as well as how your mind and body feel

Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, dairy and lean proteins pack a powerful punch

Try taking the time and having them for your lunch

Make sure to keep things clean and eat fibrous foods, which are nature's broom

You will see how it keeps things moving along pretty darn soon

We all have the same amount of time in the day

Find a way to balance it out in your own special way

Utilize your most energetic time to get things done

This is how it keeps things moving and allows time for fun

Schedule in this fun and set your priorities well

A grumpy, socially deprived person does not go over well

Fuel your body like you would an exotic car

This is the body you want to take you far

"There's always room for ice cream and chocolate" is my motto!

If you are finding it hard to balance and  fuel your auto

Invest the time today to work out a plan for your health

This is what adds to your own personal wealth
