Meditation

Another free mediation challenge with Oprah and Deepak is going to start August 5th. I took part in the last challenge and was pleasantly surprised how easy it was to make the time, even though I feel I have no time to stop for something like this. You owe it to your body to take the time to meditate. The impact it has on your journey with food, your body, balance in your life and impact on your relationships  is phenomenal. You owe it to yourself to give this a try. It is only 21 days, what do you have to lose? The nice thing was the last challenge only took 16 minutes a day. I did it at different times of the day and every single time was glad I took the time to do it. What I noticed was that initially, it was hard to quiet my mind and focus and "let go" of stress and all the "to do" items. Eventually it got much easier to do. Join me for this journey.

Balance Suggestions

Speaking of balance, I hope you are taking time to create some fun in your life. I have clients who tell me they do not have time to slow down and take a vacation. This vacation does not have to be one where you fly off to some resort, but something that allows a "break". Try a quick weekend get away to a hotel in the area, a lake house or even stay at home. The key is to turn off your computer and keep yourself removed from the normal hustle and bustle. After your "break" notice how much more focused and energized you are.

Relaxation Tips
  • Create a playlist or play a CD that is one that makes you smile and sing along.
  • Go for a swim, walk or picnic - find a way to connect with nature.
  • Think back to a great vacation spot where you just relaxed.
  • Come up with a peaceful mantra you can say in times of stress.
  • Call a family member or friend to vent.
  • Take a bath.
  • Watch a movie
