Greetings!
Lion or lamb, which will herald the month of March? Whatever weather we see today one thing certain is that Spring arrives on the 20th. So does Spring Cleaning and the PCNRC will be doing some of our own. More specifically we'll be updating our patron email databases checking for incorrect or nonexistent email addresses; blocked messages and other un-deliverables. Though we have a low percentage of bounced email we like to keep on top of the task so that it doesn't get out of hand. Many of you were initially entered into the database by us when we started using Constant Contact in 2005 and perhaps your needs have changed since then. So, here is where YOU can help by going to the newsletter sign-up and looking at the categories for which you are subscribed, update them and perhaps the organization you work for now. Sincerely, "It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade." Charles Dickens |

It's Not too Late to Register for
A Day of Restoration
Friday, March 8, 2013
Wouldn't it be nice to take time for yourself - just to relax and let go of deadlines? Here is an event for nonprofit professionals, especially for those individuals whose jobs of caring for others puts them at risk of stress overload that will do just that!
 | | A Labyrinth |
This half-day event will teach you how to recognize the signs of burn-out before it takes its' toll.
- You'll have your choice of hour-long sessions led by professionals in the field of wellness with workshops in yoga, reiki, t'ai chi and self-acupressure.
- In addition, you will learn about how walking a labyrinth can help you meditate on peace within and aid in relieving stress.
- Should you want an opportunity to energetically relieve tension you will be able to do so with taiko drumming.
A $15 fee for this event, held at Trinity Episcopal Church on West Berry, includes a box lunch. Send a check to the Paul Clarke Nonprofit Resource Center. c/o M. Fauth. 900 Library Plaza. Fort Wayne, IN 46802.
There will also be a Book Exchange table where you can drop off your no longer needed books on self-help and wellness and pick a new title for yourself!
Please register at this link to attend and make your lunch selection: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MF33GFX

Above Board
Where you'll find bits & pieces of information about and for nonprofit boards
Mistakes by Boards & Executives
From my experience on both sides of the table I'd say a big mistake would be not evaluating the executive director annually. I actually requested that my board review my performance - I didn't want any surprises. Right up there with this mistake is the board also not evaluating their own performance regularly.Though this task is probably better conducted by a third party so that honest answers are encouraged rather than 'sugar-coated' to avoid conflict.
There are a few tools online which can assist your nonprofit in evaluation.
