3 DOF Helicopter Engages MIT Students

Quanser-NI platform helps bridge control theory and practice.

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) undergraduate and graduate students taking the Feedback Control Systems course are quite familiar with the Quanser 3 DOF Helicopter. They use the system to prototype and validate their controllers and connect the theory to real-world.

Combining the Quanser plant with NI hardware and software tools significantly simplifies system setup, connections and testing process, so that the lab time can be used efficiently - for teaching and learning.

The group employed the Quanser 3 DOF Hover system to evaluate robust controllers designed by using an H∞ loop shaping method.
