The Parent/Teacher/Student Association (PTSA) will meet on Tuesday at 7. Come see how you can be involved at Woodside and make a difference. Music Boosters also meet on Tuesday at 7.
Thursday is a very important Parent Education Night about "Body Image". Please register if you will attend.
Our second to last Home Football game is Friday. Come and eat a hamburger or tamale (among other treats) and cheer on the home team.

7th and 8th Grade Orientation
Woodside welcomes current 7th and 8th graders to Woodside High School to learn more about all the great things Woodside does. Tell your neighbors to join us Wednesday at 7pm in the PAC. Click here for a copy of the flyer.
Food Drive
Woodside holds its annual Food Drive with Second Harvest Food Bank. Our goal is to raise at least 2500 pounds of food. There is a competition between all 4th period classes.
How to Write a College Essay Students are invited to a free College essay workshop at the downtown Redwood City library on Saturday Nov 7 at 11am. Click here for details.

Donation Day has been a great success, thank you to everybody who has volunteered to help, and mostly to everybody who has donated.
But we are not done - if you have not donated yet, we need your help to earn our challenge grants money.

Freshman Families Challenge: 50 for $50,000
A generous group of freshman families is challenging fellow freshman families to donate to the Foundation before December 31, 2015. If 50 freshman families donate before year-end, these generous families will donate $50,000!
A "Freshman Family" is any family with a student who is a member of the Woodside High School Class of 2019. This includes families that have students in other grades.
The Morgan Family Foundation Challenge
For the third year, the Morgan Family Foundation is pledging to match new donors or increased giving over last year up to a total of $25,000!

Has Instagram got your teen glued to his or her phone? Love the Skin You're In™ is a dynamic multimedia presentation that offers healthy strategies for navigating the negative and pervasive cultural messaging affecting youth today. Founder Brie Mathers demystifies the socioeconomic underpinnings of beauty norms and invites parents to embrace the inevitable challenge of being role models for health and happiness.
Activist Brie Mathers has spoken to over 60,000 young women, inspiring them to reclaim their minds and bodies from ubiquitous media idealizations. Brie's partners include National Youth Week New Zealand, Bay Area TEDx, University of Rochester Medical Center, Jikoji Zen Center, and Dr. Riane Eisler's Center for Partnership Studies. She has been featured in The San Jose Mercury News, Coastal Living, Origin, and on LA Talk Radio and CTV News. Brie is the author of Freedom to Blossom and is currently working on a new documentary, You Got This - Owning Body Image.
Parents, students, faculty/staff and community members welcome! Free admission.
Spanish interpretation will be available.

HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE 2015
Woodside High School's Annual Fall Harvest Faire, now called "HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE" will be coming up on Saturday, November 14th! Please mark your calendars to come and shop early for fun, creative holiday gifts and treats for yourself! It is not too late to add new vendors! DRAMA BOOSTERS
Well, we're in a slight lull in the Drama/Theater world at Woodside. I hope you were able to attend the Woodside Community Theater production of "Chicago". If you did, you know that two of our current students, Stephen Rondoni and Cella Hussussian, were in the Ensemble along with several recent alumni.
Please note: if you (or your student) are/is intending to audition for the Spring Musical, there will be a pre-audition meeting during lunch on Tuesday, November 10. This is really important for all who intend to audition, so mark your calendars and be sure to show up! There will be announcements about the location. Finally, for you theater enthusiast, if you haven't already done so, mark your calendars for the Woodside High School Drama Department's "Evening of Theater". There will be 3 performances on Thursday,Friday and Saturday, November 19 - 21. All shows start at 7pm. Students get in for $5, adults are $10. It will be General Seating, so come early and get the best seats. Tickets will be sold at lunch on the 18th, 19th, and 20th and at the door on the evening of each show. You will be treated to 7 1-Act plays, each with a "high school" theme and different casts. We'll see you at the PAC!
