ARE YOU STILL AN ALLELUIA FROM HEAD TO TOE?
With heartfelt fondness, I recall in my early years in formation with the Marianists. I especially remember Easter was a wonderful mix of prayer, liturgy, community and celebration. For several years, Fr. Jim Tobin would ask me with his trademark smile, "J.B., are you an alleluia from head to toe?" I remember the question evoked in me playfulness, joy and a not so subtle challenge. Each year since, I ask myself the same question during Easter week. How well am I reflecting the joyfulness of the resurrection? Am I an alleluia for my family, my lay community, my co-workers and strangers?
Over time, the challenge has extended to the whole year. Do I reflect the joy of the resurrection year-round or just during Easter week or maybe a bit longer? We are a resurrection people. Of course, we accept the sufferings and crosses that come our way but we have the benefit, no, rather the gift of knowing that Jesus Christ has ensured a resurrection for us and all who believe. And the joy we live because of that gift is best reflected in our lives. But we Catholics can't stop there we believe that the joy must be reflected in our communities. And finally, as Marianist communities we live that joy in communion with all the saints but most closely with Mary. Mary shows us a life of joy lived in deep faith. When we come together let us eat, pray, love and reflect a resurrection joy to each other and to the world - all year long.
Many Easter Season Blessings.

Community News
Eudokeo Community - University of Dayton Student Lay Formation Program
The Eudokeo Community made their formal commitment on April 22, 2017 at the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception.
Commitment Statement:
Invited by the spirit to form an alliance with Mary, we, as members of the Eudokeo Community, commit to be manifestations of faith and love. Humbly claiming Mary as our Mother, we ask that she clothe us in her courage, love and tenderness. Modeling and enacting Mary's ongoing mission, we strive to incarnate Christ into the world. Recognizing our need for one another, we dedicate ourselves to the fullness of community, an inclusive family that builds and spreads the Kingdom of God. Our faith compels us to live in solidarity with the poor and marginalized while working for justice in our local and global village. With joyful hearts and willing spirits, we freely choose to both stand at the foot of the cross and bear witness to God's delight in the resurrection. As a community we share in that delight, and invite others to celebration and joy.
Congratulations:Paige Benkert,Samuel Brickweg,Madison Burgei,David Devlin,Noelle Jacobs,Amber Johnson,Anna Schlegel,Victoria Schoen, and Sarah Stratil.

A Marianist Moment
Mary Mother of Graces and Mediatrix ~ This memorial reminds us of two significant anniversaries: In 1865, Pope Pius IX approved the Society of Mary; in 1839 Pope Gregory XVI gave the Society of Mary and the Daughters of Mary Immaculate a commendation. The designation of mediatrix refers to Mary's active cooperation in the work of salvation as evidenced by the ministerial charisms and graces bestowed on her, but especially as the Mother of Jesus.
Lord, our God, in your eternal wisdom and love,
You chose the Blessed Virgin Mary to be the mother of the author of all grace,
and as his companion in bringing about the mystery of our redemption.
Grant that she may obtain for us graces in abundance,
and lead us at last to the harbor of eternal salvation.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Your Annual Contribution Makes A Difference
We recently mailed our Annual Contribution Appeal via the postal service and email. If you did not receive a copy, you can find it here.
We receive contributions from all branches of the Marianist Family and people who are touched by the Marianist Charism. Our success depends on having the resources available to provide current and new programs that benefit our members.
We ask each Lay Marianist to contribute the equivalent of 2 hours wages. (One for MLC-NA and one for the International Organization.)
If you'd like to make a one-time or recurring on-line contribution, click here. You may also send a check to the address below (in the footer).
Our annual report will be sent out in early February once we have closed our 2016 books.
If you can offer your time and talent to help, please click here.
Thank you for your generous support. Together we will grow the Marianist Movement.
