The Charism Awakens
I haven't seen the new Star Wars movie yet (no spoilers please), but I was amazed at the excitement and anticipation leading up to opening night.

I have similar excitement and anticipation for the Marianist Family and MLNNA in the new year.  In 2016 we want to "Awaken the Charism" and build on the foundation we laid in 2015 with a number of activities and projects leading towards our Continental Assembly in July 2017. In order to share the details, we have prepared a number of documents and I don't want to give away what is in them so, now for our feature presentation...

Annual Report
In accordance with the 2014 Strategic Plan we have prepared three documents to report on our finances and goals.  Each document can be accessed by clicking on the links below:

Annual Report - highlights our activities for 2015 and summarizes our financial status.

Strategic Plan Scorecard - reports on our progress toward meeting the goals in the plan.

2016 Plan and Budget - lists our plans and budget for next year.

On behalf of the MLNNA Leadership Team, thank you for your support in 2015 and your continued support in 2016.

May the Charism be with You.

Chair, MLNNA Leadership Team
MLNNA Update
The MLNNA Leadership Team welcomes Maureen O'Rourke to the team as one of our MSJC Representatives.  Maureen is the program coordinator for the Marianist PULSE volunteer program. She and Mallory Green will be our liaisons to the MSJC.
Volunteer Opportunities with MLNNA!
We have an opening on the Leadership Team. If you are interested in being a part of a dynamic team to help build the MLNNA into a stronger community of communities, contact Mike Wasno for details.

We are also looking for help on a variety of projects.  Some are short-term, one-time projects.  Please consider donating a few hours of your time to help provide new features for you - our members.   Here's just a sample:

Marketing Communications - We are looking for help to freshen up our website by February and integrate our social media presence. If you, your community, or a team of friends would like to work on this project, please email us.
2017 Assembly
We still have openings for people to help plan the 2017 Assembly and would like a mix of experienced and "less-experienced" members to work together t
o build an Assembly that will attract as many Lay Marianists as possible.

We're looking for one more co-Chair, and leaders and assistants for the Three Offices. We also need committee members who are willing to assist them!  Our first goal is to get a core team together to help select a site and start recruiting the larger team.

If you're not available until sometime in the future - let us know, we can use your help when you are available.

If you are interested, or know someone who would be interested, in being a part of the 2017 Assembly Committee, please contact
Al Prendergast or Mike Wasno
Community News
On December 19th, the Maranatha Marianist Lay Community, gathered to express their consecration which included mass presided by Fr. Pat Tonry. Holy Father's Prayer for the Year of Mercy
Lord Jesus Christ,
you have taught us to be merciful like the heavenly Father,
and have told us that whoever sees you sees Him.
Show us your face and we will be saved.

Your loving gaze freed Zacchaeus and Matthew from being enslaved by money;
the adulteress and Magdalene from seeking happiness only in created things;
made Peter weep after his betrayal,
and assured Paradiseto the repentant thief.

Let us hear, as if addressed to each one of us, the words that you spoke to the Samaritan woman: "If you knew the gift of God!"

You are the visible face of the invisible Father,
of the God who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and mercy:
let the Church be your visible face in the world, its Lord risen and glorified.

You willed that your ministers would also be clothed in weakness
in order that they may feel compassion for those in ignorance and error:
let everyone who approaches them feel sought after, loved, and forgiven by God.

Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its anointing,
so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of grace from the Lord,
and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor,
proclaim liberty to captives and the oppressed,
and restore sight to the blind.

We ask this through the intercession of Mary, Mother of Mercy,
you who live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit for ever and ever.
Amen.
