Types of Church People
By Doug Talley
Based on pastoring for 26 years and working with churches in a consulting role for the last seven years, I am prone to agree with a colleague and friend of mine who has identified five general types of people in the local church. Though these persons are referred to in 1 Thessalonians 5:12-15, I realize the passage doesn't necessarily identify them as categories of people. However, I think it provides some insight to people in our churches and how to relate to them when we recognize how different these persons are. My recommendation is that you don't become rigid in classifying people, but that you do become aware of people and how to work with them based on their character, personal and emotional health, and impact potential.

Challenging Economic Times
By Dan Reiland
A friend of mine just lost his job. He's in his 50's with two kids in college, and he's worried. Another friend just laid off a large number of employees. And a surprising number of recent college graduates that I know are not landing jobs. That's a negative headline - but it's a true headline. There are some job openings, people are getting hired, and there is hope! But we must admit it's tough out there right now.
