Volleyball Registration Closes Tomorrow

Volleyball registration ends this Friday, February 5, at 3pm. Please register your student by that time so that coaches have an accurate headcount and can begin planning practices.

History Day Volunteers Needed

Are you a history buff? Then we've got the opportunity for you! Frau Jacobs is looking for eight history day judges to help judge in this year's history day competition. The competition will take place on Thursday, February 18 from 9-3. It would be ideal if judges can judge the whole day, but volunteering in shifts is okay too. TCGIS Family Ski Day at Trollhaugen - Last Chance!

Last chance to join in the fun! Come for a fun family ski day next Friday at Trollhaugen, located just one hour away in Dresser, WI.

Lift tickets (day) -- $15 (9:30 am to 3:00 pm)
       Children under 5 ski for free.
       Extend through the evening for just $5 more.
Lift tickets (night) -- $20 (3:00 pm to 3:00 am)
Ski/snowboard rentals -- $15

Free group lessons available (morning only). Advance notice is required. 

Trollhaugen also offers a Learn-to-Ski program for 5th and 6th graders only -- just $18 for lift ticket, ski rental, and lessons.

Carnival of Cultures is Coming!

It's that time of the year again! The carnival season is coming and we will celebrate our annual Carnival of Cultures on Friday, February 19. Mark your calendars! The theme this year is "In the Name of Peace". This artwork is from Jasmine Freund (2c).

A short schedule:
6:00pm The Capstone Caf� will be open in the cafeteria
6:30pm Part I of the Carnival will start in the Aula (grades K-3)
7:30pm Intermission 
7:50pm Part II will begin (grades 4-8)

Magic Marker Recycling

Who knew that one can recycle dried up magic markers? You can!! Now that you know, please gather them for future collections at TCGIS.The first collection will be Feb 1-22. Drop them off at the TCGIS main office.  Bring any brand marker, dry erase marker or highlighter. Please no pencils, pens, crayons or other writing tools except those specified. The second planned collection will be at the end of the school year, so set those dried markers aside and do what is right for the environment.

Learn more about applying to German undergraduate and advanced degree programs with Jay Malone, founder of Eight Hours and Change (EHC). Whether you're interested in their services or just want to learn more about the application process, join us for a short informational session and Q&A at the GAI.
 
Documentary Film Screening: Rotkohl und Blaukraut
Friday February 12, 7pm, film run time is 50 min - Free and Open to the Public
 
Join us for a screening of documentary Rotkohl und Blaukraut ("Turkish Kraut"). The film follows two families with German and Turkish backgrounds in Germany's Ruhr region, exploring the balance and connection between different cultures, religions, and traditions, as well as what it means to be German today. Join Us for the February PTO Meeting
Tuesday, February 9, 6:30-8:00 pm at TCGIS in Room 100
 
The February PTO meeting will have a fun ice-breaker before committee reports and a draft budget revision vote for the 2015-16 school year. There will also be a call for officers for the 2016-17 school year.
 
To help us with meeting set-up, please register in advance if you plan to attend. If you need FREE PTO-sponsored child care during the meeting, you must register in advance.
