Work and the Meaning of Life
By George Friesen
Work and the Meaning of LifeA couple of years ago I was doing a Gemba walk (A Japanese term for going to the actual place where work happens) on the production floor at one of my clients. I stopped in a work area and asked a fellow named Bill if he'd thought about ways of improving his work processes. Bill responded, "Do you want an honest answer?" I said, "That'd be the only kind that would mean anything."

By Barry Schapiro
Leadership for Life - Get Moving!Every once in a while, I hear complaints from people about how they can't seem to get a bunch of people moving in the same direction at the same time. "It's like herding cats!" they say. While I've never tried to herd a clowder (just showin' off) of cats, I have had some experience with getting groups of kids (they're people, right?) moving in the desired direction.
