Esse Health, the largest independent physician practice in the St. Louis region, initiated its partnership with STLCC with a presentation by George Friesen on Waste Detection and Employee Empowerment.
This presentation was followed by a five-day series of training and planning sessions in Process Improvement Leader Training which produced Esse Health's first group of certified Performance Improvement Leaders (pictured here).
Silos-good for farmers, bad for leaders
Silos-good for farmers, bad for leaders Farmers use silos to store and separate their grains. The effects of mixing wheat and corn are too terrible to contemplate, so farm silos are a good thing. On the other hand, the creation of information silos in businesses and other organizations are not so good or in some cases bad. Read on to learn more.
STEM Career Grant Missouri's community colleges and the State Technical College of Missouri have received a $19.7 million grant to train an estimated 1,900 workers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields. STLCC will receive more than $1.9 million from the award.
STLCC in September partnered with the St. Louis Business Journal and HEC-TV to present the State of St. Louis Workforce Report, Steve Long, associate vice chancellor of the Workforce Solutions Group, also recently discussed the research results on St. Louis Public Radio.

Central Sterile Processing Technician Information Session
This free session is designed to provide information to individuals interested in the Central Sterile Processing Technician training. The presentation will include an explanation of the pre-requisites, an overview of the training and requirements needed for certification.

Successful BOAT Program Enrolling Now
Business Office Application Training The BOAT program, a long running successful program offered at the college's MET Center, is an accelerated ten-week professional certificate program offering diverse adult learners practical skills necessary to compete in today's global workforce such as certification as a Microsoft Office Specialist and new for this session an IC3 Digital Literacy certification. Program graduates also earn eight college credit hours towards a degree. There is no cost to qualified applicants.
