Something to think about |
"The challenge of leadership is to be strong, but not rude; be kind, but not weak; be bold, but not bully; be thoughtful, but not lazy; be humble, but not timid; be proud, but not arrogant; have humor, but without folly."

Musings
Who are You?
Our new computer age has spawned a new tool that may be critical to your success. This new tool is your profile. We used to pick up a phone and introduce ourselves to business associates and friends. Today your profile is used on every social media site you use; Linkedin, Facebook, Pintrest, and many others. It is very important that your profile reflects the real you, as well as the you that is your brand.
Your profile is not just a social tool. Employers, business associates, potential clients, and even blind dates often use it. This is why you should be very careful about what you post. Comments that you post are permanent, they never go away. The pictures of Spring Break may effect your reputation and employability. Here are some things to consider when writing your profiles.
- Use a word document or even paper and pencil to create
you rough draft off the site to avoid posting something negative by accident. - Use words that describe you; be specific, not general.
- Different sites may require different versions of your Profile. Each profile should include the same information as others with editing to match your audience. Be credible. For example: Linkedin is business focused while Pintrest is lifestyle oriented.
- It is OK to brag about yourself. Include your accomplishments. Be specific about what you have do
ne, and how it helped others. Include dreams and goals. A reader may have the solution. - Include awards and special recognition. It is OK to blow your own horn.
- Be sure to include your favorite books, movies, music, and interests. These help make connections.
- Be credible and honest above all else.
- Make it fun.
Don't be surprised at the reactions you get from a well thoughtout profile. Your profile is your brand--make it count.

Your Money - Your Life Computer Gone Wacky? If your computer is running slowly or cutting in and out? Before you call our geeks (and lifesavers) you can check the speed of your modem. It just may need resetting, or even moving. across the room. If the signal speed is what it should be, contact Ring A Geek to have it thoroughly cleaned. With your permission, they will take over your desktop, and clean and fix any systems that need it. If the signal is too slow or erratic, you have to contact your service provider to have them check the line. It is one of life's little mysteries that computers can change their setting without our help. The gremlins can make you computer life chaotic and frustrating. Being to self diagnose computer problems will save you a lot of money. There are lots of things that you can do yourself that may solve your problems, or direct you to proper fixes. Thank you Ross for this great tip. |
