Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ & Welcome to the month of November! The year is just about to round up! But I Trust that The LORD still has great Plans for us & as we co-operate with Him, He'll bring to pass All that has been destined for our Good this year! Which is why I want to share with you in this edition of our E-Newsletter on the need to Guard your Heart & Stop every form of Careless Thoughts that eventually becomes the 'building block' that the enemy uses to launch his major offensives against God's people! 

The heart of man is very delicate & needs extra care in dealing with it. The Bible says the wellspring or the issues of life is from there. Whatever we say & whatever action we take, has its origin from our hearts. If we allow it, it could go so weird & bring thoughts that can put us into trouble when executed. The Bible also says that: "The heart is deceitful above all things & desperately wicked; who can know it?". (Jeremiah: 17: 9). No man can understand the human heart, nor even his own heart because it is highly deceptive, deceitful & desperately wicked. Only God can understand it. Jesus also confirmed Jeremiah's diagnosis when he talked about the heart of man (in Mark: 7: 21-22) as the source of his evil & sinful deeds. Hearts that are committed to doing evil run the grave risk of becoming hardened. Also when we persistently refuse to Listen to God's Word & Obey Him, but instead follow the wicked desires of our heart, we'll find that God will eventually harden our hearts so that they lose all sensitivity to His Word & warnings of the Holy Spirit. 

The Heart of man is the Center or Seat of Human Intellect - because people know things in their heart, pray, meditate, hide God's Word, devise plans, keep words, think, doubt, ponder, believe & sing in their heart; & all these actions of the heart are primarily issues involving the mind! Also, the Heart is the Center of Human Emotions - the Bible speaks about the glad heart, the loving heart, fearful heart, courageous heart, repentant heart, etc & these  actions of the heart are primarily emotional in character! The Heart is also the Center of Human Will - as we read of the heart that is: yielded to God, hardened & refuses to do what God commands; devoted to seeking the Lord; etc, all of which are activities that takes place in the human Will! 

In essence, the Heart of man is the wellspring & centrality of the entire human life & destiny! Yet we are still commanded to Guard it! This means that it's our Responsibility to Keep, Watch over, & Guard our Heart & our Thought life! And to "Guard" is the action or duty of Watching out for attack, danger, surprise or of Protecting somebody or something. Therefore to Guard your Heart is the regular continual action of keeping watch, watching over, watching out for any attack or danger coming against it & protecting it from such attacks or dangers. So when attacks from the devil in the form of Thoughts strikes, we must shield our Heart from such attacks! How are we supposed to Guard our Heart? With all Diligence, all Vigilance, all carefulness, with steady effort & hard work! This means that Guarding your Heart is Not an easy, lazy, slothful job or task. It is hard work, but it's worth it!
