CareClix  |  Frequently Asked Questions
We have received a lot of positive feedback and questions about our announcement of the CareClix program offered to Coventry Health Care of Virginia, Inc. clients. In our broker meetings scheduled for February, we will have a CareClix demonstration, so be sure to register if you have not already done so.

Q - What size group can buy this product?
A - CareClix is making their product available to Coventry Health Care of Virginia, Inc. clients of all sizes, even down to two employees.

Q - If the group buys the CareClix product, are all employees/members covered?
A - Since we are passing eligibility data to CareClix, only employees and dependents that are covered on the health plan will have access to the CareClix product.

Q - Can any group on any benefit plan design buy this?
A - Yes, since the CareClix product is separate from the insured product, any active Coventry client can buy this program and receive preferred pricing. Since the medical plan and any deductible are unrelated to the product, CareClix is especially attractive to members on qualified high deductible health plans and SJ plans where ER is subject to the deductible.

Q - What is the cost to employees?
A - The consultation fee is $25 during office hours and $45 after hours (6:00 pm - 6:00 am ET). The fee will be collected at the time of service by a credit or debit card.

Q - How do the employees access CareClix?
A - Members can call on land-line or mobile phones, or use smartphone technology (iPhone or Android), or use an iPad or a computer. The best consultations occur when members use a PC or iPad with a good webcam.

Q - What about out-of-area employees?
A - Out-of-area employees enrolled in the health plan will have access to CareClix using the same process as in-area employees.

Q - What services is Coventry providing?
A - Coventry Health Care of Virginia, Inc. clients will receive preferred pricing from CareClix, and we will charge the administrative fees on the premium invoice and pass eligibility data to CareClix. Because we have taken on the administrative work related to billing and eligibility, CareClix has made this product available to groups of all sizes, even down to two employees.

Q - If the group no longer has coverage through Coventry Health Care of Virginia, Inc., do they lose the ability to have CareClix?
A - The group would no longer have the preferred pricing that CareClix offers to our clients and would no longer have billing and eligibility functions performed by us. Groups could continue to contract with CareClix but the costs are likely to be significantly higher.

Q - Can CareClix physicians write prescriptions?
A - Yes, and CareClix has loaded the preferred drug list into their system so providers can prescribe to the formulary whenever possible.

Q - Do groups have to buy this product at renewal only?
A - No, because the product is separate from the medical coverage, we can add the product and associated fees for the client at any time during the year.

Q - Before members see a CareClix provider, what do they need to do?
A - Once the group has been enrolled, members will receive a welcome kit from CareClix that includes an ID card (with a unique member ID not related to the Coventry Health Care of Virginia, Inc. member ID number) and an intake assessment. Members should complete the intake assessment before they use CareClix. If they do not, they can still use the service, but the first consultation will take longer as the intake assessment will be completed at that time.

Q - Is there a contract specific to the CareClix product?
A - Yes, since the product is separate from the insurance product, the employer will sign a contract directly with CareClix. Your Coventry Health Care of Virginia, Inc. account representative will facilitate this process.

Q - Can CareClix accommodate members who speak languages other than English?
A - Yes, CareClix can provide a language line when the member calls in and engages a customer service representative.
