The regular drop/add period will wrap up this Wednesday, August 24. After that date, it will still be possible for a student to change the level of his/her class if necessary (assuming that there is space available in the desired new class). Students have the first five weeks of the first semester to complete level changes (i.e. moving from Pre-AP English 9 to regular English 9). It is not, however, recommended that level changes be the first line of defense when a student is struggling in a class; students should first talk with the teacher about their struggles, request additional assistance, and attend tutorial on a regular basis. Level changes require teacher approval and will be considered only if the following conditions have been met:
  • The student is making a sincere effort to do the work in the class
  • The student is regularly making contact with the teacher in the classroom and during tutorial periods to ask questions
  • The student and parents have worked with the teacher to understand the scope and nature of the problems causing difficulties
  • The student and parents have consulted with the counselor so that the counselor can offer general support and can talk to the teacher with the student

Parents of seniors: If your student is considering attending a four-year university immediately after high school and he/she has not yet taken the SAT or ACT, it is imperative that they sign up for one, or both, ASAP! The next SAT will be given on October 1 and students must register by September 1 in order to avoid late fees. To register for the SAT, please have your student visit sat.collegeboard.org. The next ACT that students can still register for will be given on October 22 and students must register by September 16 to avoid late fees. To register for the ACT, please visit www.actstudent.org.

AMPHI DISTRICT BOND ELECTION IN NOVEMBER INFORMATION

CDO Attendance now has two
lines to assist you!

696-5570 is a voicemail line for ALL DAY absences of your student.  Please leave your name, student's name (spell first and last) and the date and reason for the absence.  This line is only for all day absences as it is not continually checked for messages.

696-5572 rings at the attendance desk if you need to call your student out early, get them a message or need to speak to someone about any attendance questions.  Please do not use this line for all day absences.

We are hoping that the addition of a new line will allow our attendance staff to answer your calls as often as possible when you need to pick your student up early or address other immediate attendance needs.  Thank you!

PARENT PORTAL

The "Parent Portal" is a district resource that offers Parents and Guardians the opportunity to access student records from a computer. This resource includes access to the following: Class Schedule, Academic History, Assignments, Attendance, Class Progress, Personal Details, Standard Test Scores and periodical email notifications. Please note teachers will update class progress every 2 weeks.
The primary email address that you provided on your registration paperwork was used to set up this account. If you check marked "Parent Portal Access" a password will be assigned. If you did not provide an email you may do so by emailing Mrs. Valencia @ pvalenci@amphi.com. Once the password is generated an email notification will be sent to you with the Parent Portal address, your username/password, and personal details.
If you have more than one student in the Amphitheater School District, please notify us. We will need their name(s) and which school(s) they attend. We will be able to merge the accounts so you can access them with one username and password.
If you need to verify your current Parent Portal information you can email Mrs. Valencia @ pvalenci@amphi.com . Please indicate your student's full name, ID#, and grade level.

Access the Parent/Student Portal: log on to www.amphi.com. In the upper right click on the " A+" symbol. This will take you directly to the Parent/Student Portal information.

PLEASE NOTE: The Parent Portal is best accessed on a desktop or laptop. It is NOT 100% compatible with any mobile devices. If you do get it on a mobile device it is NOT guaranteed to be accurate.

If you had previous Parent Portal access and you cannot access it now, you may need to refresh your cache.

If you previously bookmarked the Amphi.com site, delete the bookmark first then remove the cache.

If your student does NOT have access to the Student Portal please send them to the Counseling Department with their current school year photo ID. The student will need to request to see Mrs. Valencia. A username and password will be created and the student can immediately have access to their student portal account.

CDO LEGACY BRICKS

We are planning to fill the brick area by the library, next to the parking lot with bricks this year.  Orders in by Christmas will be placed in the Spring for the students to enjoy.

Feel free to include all of your CDO students/alumni on one brick or purchase one for each.

Legacy bricks are a great way to show your pride in your student's accomplishments at CDO and a great way to leave your family's legacy with CDO.

Wednesday, October 19 - CDO High School

The PSAT is the practice exam for the SAT. Some students take it twice - fall of sophomore year and again in the fall of junior year; junior year scores are used to determine who is a semi-finalist for the National Merit Scholarships.  Freshman student may take the test if there are still tests available at sign up.
