Some times a little thing can make such an impact --

My husband and I had learned we needed to make a change on the paperwork for some personal business, so last Thursday I talked with our advisor and the appropriate document promptly arrived in the mail.

On Sunday evening, in preparation of completing the paperwork, I began to pull out all of my records in order to have account numbers and correct wording ready to go, only to realize our advisor had already filled in the necessary information for me. All that was needed were our signatures and the date. He even included a self-addressed, postage paid envelope, so all I had to do was make a stop at the mail box.

Wow. Knowing this person as I do, I am sure this is how he treats all of his clients. To him, it is a part of his service. To me, as a client, it stands out -- such detailed care is a rarity. I am typically one to cross all Ts and dot all Is, and to be on the receiving end feels great.

It was something that definitely made an impression.

Remember...

Customer service is not always about hitting the home run; sometimes the little things will have a huge impact too. Is there an extra step you could take that would wow someone?

The ability to distinguish yourself can be key to your success in any professional or social situation. Any time you interact with someone, you have the opportunity to build your reputation or diminish it. You never know who you may be interacting with... or who they may know! Does your presence project confidence, polish and approachability?
