:9 And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.
:10 So then, as occasion and opportunity open up to us, let us do good [morally] to all people [not only being useful or profitable to them, but also doing what is for their spiritual good and advantage]. Be mindful to be a blessing, especially to those of the household of faith [those who belong to God's family with you, the believers]. Galatians 6:9-10 (Amplified Bible)
How do you think these verses apply to your personal stewardship? There are specific stewardship instructions given to us regarding our body, mind and spirit. Our well doing must include the care of our person. Doing right for and by others keeps our hearts right - not exacting evil for evil, turning the matter over to God, releases us from the offense and the offender. Rehashing/replaying it keeps the wound raw, and our feelings in a knot - not good for the mind, body or heart. Science has even confirmed that unforgiveness will render sickness/disease on the body. Well doing of personal stewardship also involves nutrition, exercise, relaxation and sleep. Christian lives are not restricted to work, assignments, projects and tasks. The promised "life more abundantly" is for us in the here and now, not only at our arrival in heaven. Although He promised, we have responsibilities in the implementation and maintenance. Looking at a few: ~ Healing and wholeness - how/what/when are you eating...are
you exercising...do you take time-outs to breathe and enjoy the
works of the Lord? ~ Prosperity - how is your sowing...do you tithe (1/10th of your
increase, which belongs to Him)...do you sow into the lives of
those who feed you...are you generous according to His Kingdom
standard...have you committed to live by God's financial system? ~ Relationships - have you allowed God to complete you in
Him...sought Him for who is to/for you...sought Him for the how,
when, and if-at-all guidance...sought His counsel for direction to
maintain excitement, freshness and mutual appreciation? In case you have not noticed - the key is to keep God as the Source for it all and following through on His direction. Prayer Lord God, help Your children live according to Your plans and Kingdom principles and standards. Help us remain strong and committed to Your counsel so we may truly be living testimonies of Your faithfulness and care. Reveal things in our life and heart that need addressing - including forgiving others, ourselves; and possibly You, God, in our misunderstanding of things. Help us in our endeavors in personal stewardship unto the wealth of life You have for us.
Thank You, Father, for Your love, patience and care. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
