Of One Body
:20 As it is, there are many parts, yet one body.
:21 The eye cannot say to the hand, "I have no need of you," nor again the head to the feet, "I have no need of you."
:22 On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,
:23 and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty,
:24 which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it,
:25 that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.
:26 If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.
:27 Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.

Believers are of one body; the body of Jesus Christ. We are a unit, to operate in conjunction with one another in service and in the care for and of each other. Acts 2:42-47 reports how there were none left in need, for they all cared for one another...giving, sharing and loving. This is what is required and expected of us by God, who designed this function of His Kingdom. God bestows His gifts to each of us, and all are important, valuable and necessary.
We are to help without demeaning the one needing assistance. In the same vein, we are to ask for help, never thinking we are ever above needing assistance. Position/status does not limit you to or exempt you from requesting support. Both of these establish the secure environment for healing and wholeness as the Lord so desires...even commands of us to maintain.
The Lord flows freely and we flourish in this setting. His Kingdom comes, manifests as we operate in this mode. His love and compassion are experienced among us; and witnessed to draw others to Him, to participate in this awesome community of fellowship and service. God is good, and we are extensions of His goodness. We are of one body functioning in Him.
Now I challenge you to take it further into application:
If you see a need, know that the Father has probably caused you to notice what He sees. So ask Him if and how He desires you to help fill the need. We are not to always wait for the person to ask us; why not ask the Father what He has purposed for you to do. There you go...a manifestation of the sons (and daughters) of God; and we glorify Him.

Dear Jesus,
I believe You are the Son of God.

I believe You are alive and now seated at the right hand of the Father.
I believe You died for my sin; paying the debt for sin that I could not pay myself.
Please forgive me for all my sin.
I invite You into my heart and my life to be my Lord and Savior.
I am forgiven. I am now born-again. I am now a child of God.
Thank You, Lord. In Jesus' Name. Amen.
