For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him.

                                        2 Chronicles 16:9 (Amplified Bible) 

This verse holds a direct message for God's people.  He reveals that He intentionally, deliberately looks for people to bless.  This does not only refer to financial or material gain.  Our Father is interested and desires to be involved in all things concerning us to bring about His expected result.   

The words of this text were spoken to the king, Asa, by God's spokesman, Hanani, the prophet.   God had His representative remind the king of previous victories by God's hand, and  that He is still in the blessing business.

At the threat of invasion, Asa chose to take matters into his own hands; forming an alliance with another king, and trusting in his might for deliverance and protection instead of trusting the Lord.  

The rest of that verse reads -  

You have done foolishly in this; therefore, from now on you shall have wars.  

Basically God says to us in this account, "Either you are going to believe  Me and the works I do and have done, or you are not. Are you going to allow Me to be God, or continue in your own restricted/limited manner?"  

This question does not suggest a stance of non-action or laziness.  We are to seek God for His directives, trusting Him regardless of the strategy He gives (at times it will not make sense), and regardless of any current status.  His required trust, which is our faith, must be to the degree that we obey His instruction.   

Repent, ask His forgiveness for those times you have omitted or overlooked His involvement; and turn away from that manner of operating.  Be as the following king, Jehoshaphat, who humbled himself, and sought the Lord, admitting, "We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on You."  (2 Chronicles 20:12) 

All this comes under the umbrella of intimacy with the Lord God.  Only then can we know Him well enough to trust Him, and identify His voice at all times.  It is more than His desire for us to be close to Him; it is also His plan and established principle for victory. 

Allow...even cause yourself to be one to whom God can regularly show Himself strong.  Just as in that day, so it is today and forever.  Position your self to be the one whom He finds.
