"It says right there 'Amerikan pirinci!'"
|
ISTANBUL, TURKEY -- As Ramadan is approaching, food suppliers are competing to occupy food corners of major newspapers and magazines in Turkey with attractive recipes and articles. Since April, Turkey's major daily and online newspapers like "Bugun," and magazines such as "Female" and "Catering Guide," as well as some 50 online portals like "Hurriyet," "Milliyet," "Radikal," and "IHA" featured a variety of U.S. rice articles and recipes with colorful photos.
The articles focused on U.S.-grown rice´s outstanding nutritional benefits and its ease of preparation and convenience for the end consumer. These media sources identified the USA Rice Federation in all the articles and recipes they published free of charge, having an equivalent estimated advertising value of over $54,000 in April-May 2014.
"The local U.S. rice brands appreciated our efforts in promoting the health benefits of U.S. rice, with the aim of boosting consumption," said Jim Guinn, USA Rice's vice president of international promotion. "We also continuously updated our Facebook page with newly developed recipes for this market, and received close to 9,000 Likes for our efforts there."
