A Precious Child is running very low on diapers, baby food, and wipes! | |
A Precious Child's Basics 4 Babies program provides diapers, wipes, baby formula, and other necessities to low income families and pregnant teenagers. Basics 4 Babies was developed in response to the high volume of requests for diapers and other necessities from our clients, partners, and the community. Basics 4 Babies is a direct aid to mothers and families that might otherwise ration or go without basic necessity for their babies.
Please help by donating diapers, baby food and baby wipes!
* we are completely out of newborn diapers and sizes 3, 4, 5, and 6! |
Volunteer of the Month | |
A Precious Child is happy to recognize Angelo Saint-Veltri as the volunteer of the month. Angelo is a recent graduate of East High School in Denver. In between playing and coaching rugby for 7 and 8 year olds, Angelo volunteers three days a week for A Precious Child. He has been instrumental in helping in 'receiving' where he helps sort, inventory, and display donated clothing and other essentials. Angelo has also helped train and coordinate volunteers and has been a great role model for kids performing community service. Thanks Angelo for all of your hard work and dedication to helping children and families in need! |
Thank you to everyone who participated in the 3rd Annual Golf for A Precious Child Tournament
A Precious Child raised over $26,000 with the help of our golfers, sponsors and volunteers! These funds will go directly to the Fill-A-Backpack program to provide backpacks filled with school supplies to children whose parents or guardians could not otherwise afford them!

A Girl Scout Project: Collecting Equipment for Kids in Need

Lyndsey Babcock a regular volunteer for A Precious Child and active community member was charged with creating a Gold Award project for her Girl Scouts. She decided to hold softball camps and collect sports equipment for A Precious Child. She held two camps at Greenway park in Broomfield with the help of the Broomfield High School softball team. Lyndsey said:
"For my Girl Scout Gold Award project I ran two softball camps for girls ages 5-9. I asked each girl to donate new or used sports equipment for APrecious Child. I also asked friends, family, and my high school softball team to help with these donations. So far, I have collected over 90pieces of equipment. It was a great experience and my hope is to continue collecting sports equipment for children and adults in need."

Client Stories
Being the oldest of six children and having two parents that are unemployed, Jeffrey was accustomed to sacrificing some of the things he enjoyed for the betterment of his family. When Jeffrey expressed to his dad that he wanted to be a catcher on the local baseball team this year, his dad was concerned that they would be unable to afford the expensive catching gear and registration fees. Jeffrey's dad soon realized that he was able to sign up as a coach to have the registration fees waived. However, this now meant that not only would they have to buy Jeffrey gear; they now needed coaching supplies as well.
When Jeffrey's dad and younger siblings came into A Precious Child they were overcome with joy when they found our giveSPORTS section. Not only were they able to get catching gear for Jeffrey, they also found "coaching kits" that were donated by Dick's Sporting Goods, complete with balls, bags, and line-up sheets, for his dad. As they were picking out catcher's helmets, a very excited Jeffrey exclaimed, "I don't have to borrow my team's equipment anymore, I can actually bring my own!" The pride and confidence Jeffrey exuded from being able to bring his own equipment to his games was shown by the large smile on his face.
