THE MOTTO OF SOCIAL ETHICS

It is only wholesome when
In the mirror of the Human Soul
the whole community takes shape
and in the community
lives the strength of individual soul

♦ by Rudolf Steiner
♦ Translated by James Gillen

I love this Motto, and am very grateful to our friend James Gillen for preparing a new translation shortly before he died in November...a lasting gift!

For the first time, I am noticing the word ethics.  Social art is not an instinctive natural activity - again and again we need to make choices and live with the consequences.

In the upcoming months, there will be several opportunities for us to build new capacities and strengthen our work together.  Please join us!

We are now looking forward with anticipation to the visit of Deborah and Tom Ravetz.  They are well qualified to guide us on the next step on our journey.  Mark your Calendars!

In the new mysteries the whole earth becomes an altar. The hidden tragedies and triumphs of the pupils become external fact. Our friends and colleagues become for us, though we and they may know but little of it, the terrible and wonderful actors in the ceremony of our initiation.  - Adam Bittleston

METAMORPHOSIS!
Festival of Arts And Education
at the Rudolf Steiner Centre,  7 - 25 July

If we want to find tools for stepping out of a materialistic world view into a knowledge based understanding of the spirit, metamorphosis is the mystery to be explored. It guides the development of plants and animals, ideas and the human soul. It has inspired artists and seekers for centuries.

Join us in our joyful, artistic, playful and practical exploration of the wonder that inspires us to seek glimpses of the divine.  Details

SPECIAL NOTE: Christian Hitsch, sculptor from the Goetheanum, will be leading a workshop at the festival and will be on the campus for an extended period.  For more intormation about his planned activities, contact Greg Scott.  email
