Getting Involved Fair this Sunday:  Building Community
Our Getting Involved Fair continues this Sunday with tabling by groups that Build Community in our congregation. Be sure to join us between services (10:15 - 11:15), when you can stroll through and learn about our Caring Committee and small groups (Chalice Circles, Fellowship Dinners, Men's Group, Women's Alliance, Wednesday Walkers), as well as our Holiday Art Fair & Bazaar, greeters, ushers, and Membership Committee.   All groups participation from new folks. Imagine what friendships might grow in your own life while helping to carry out our vision for Building Community!

           Continuing with our theme of Invitation, we invite you into the second part of our vision statement, "Building Community."   This vital aspect of congregational life brings with it inspiration and challenge.    As part of Building Community, this worship service will include the ceremonial commissioning of our Ministerial Search Committee.  Join us as we explore the mystery of life and love together.

       Join us for a multi-generational observance of the changing seasons. We will reflect upon this time of balance between light and darkness and celebrate the harvest. Our Children's Choir will share a gift of music during the evening service.
Directory Update Continues September 20
     We will have a draft of the congregational directory for your review available in the Commons once again on Sunday, Sept. 20. Please check it to be sure we have your correct info. If you would like to have a snapshot of yourself or a group photo of your family included in the upcoming directory, there will be volunteer photographers (John Woodcock, Laura Jesseph, and Mara Flynn) available during coffee hour this Sunday.  You can also take a selfie and send it to us at office@uubloomington.org!  :-)
Looking for a Fall Adult Religious Education Opportunity?  Consider Owning Your Religious Past 
Owning Your Religious Past provides an opportunity to connect past religious experiences to present dreams and realities. Participants will explore the affective elements of these connections, rather than dogma, through both group sharing and private exploration, and using journal writing exercises. Five two-hour sessions, Tuesdays, September 29th - October 27th, 6:00 - 8:00 PM, in Room 110.  Please register by September 22 by contacting  office@uubloomington.org. Special Purposes Town Hall Meeting on Fossil Fuel Divestment-- September 26
   The Special Purposes Fund Committee is discussing divesting from fossil fuels and all are invited to a Town Hall meeting on Saturday, September 26 at 10:30 a.m. to share in the discussion. If you will need childcare to attend this meeting, please contact Adrienne Summerlot at dre@uubloomington.org by September 22.

Help Pick Up Persimmons for the Bazaar!
Looking for a fine family autumnal activity?   The Holiday Art Fair and Bazaar is looking for a few good folks to collect persimmons --which are early and abundant this year.  No experience necessary.
