Guanacaste - Ideal for Table Tops!

Sample Guanacaste Slab with a polyurethane finish
Guanacaste Slab 3783x2

We now have some beautiful Guanacaste (Enterolobium cyclocarpum) slabs in stock.  Guanacaste is an ideal wood for making table or bar tops. It is a fast growing tree so it is not unusual for the tree trunks to be enormous and therefore can easily make a table top out of one slab.  Also, unlike other exotics it is lightweight (slightly lighter than cherry) so you can easily maneuver the table. Woodworkers like the fact that it is very easy to work with and that it looks a lot like Koa. A lot of Guanacaste that is imported has a high moisture content; we re-dry all of our Gaunacaste, so it is suitable for using in furniture and cabinetmaking.
