We just sawed one of the largest east coast logs that we have ever gotten. This huge Red Oak log was 67" in diameter on one end, 20' long and weighed over 20,000 lbs! Most red oak trees around here in the northeast are between 20" and 40" diameter. We bought it from a local arborist who cut it down because it was dying. We have cut it into various thicknesses and we will now air dry it for a couple years.
