Halfway through Purdue Open Enrollment
We're cruising through open enrollment! Remember that you must complete your benefits elections by Friday, November 13, at 6 p.m. (EST).

Human Resources has added walk-in lab sessions to the open enrollment schedule [PDF]. Do you have questions or need help with the enrollment process? Come to one of these walk-in lab sessions in the Banner Room, located in Kettler Hall, Room G13:
  • Thursday, November 5, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
  • Friday, November 6, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (expanded hours)
Reject the Labels. Define Yourself.
You have your NoH8 photo----now make your "Sincerely, Me" photo! This new diversity initiative from Student Life and Leadership will challenge participants to reject the labels that society places on them and to define their own identities. The event will be Thursday, November 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Walb Classic Ballroom.

What makes you unique? Write a word or phrase on your arm, hand, face, or on a T-shirt and pose for a portrait. Photos will be uploaded to IPFW social media to show the world how our students, faculty, and staff define themselves.

MS Office 2016 Suite: Wait for Green Light from ITS
Microsoft recently released its Office 2016 suite, the successor to Microsoft Office 2013. In response, IT Services has begun testing to ensure this product will integrate smoothly into the IPFW computer environment and that proper documentation and other support resources are available.

Please do not install this product on IPFW-owned equipment until testing has been completed and compatibility has been confirmed.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, the goal is to have Office 1016 available in the student labs in time for the fall 2016 semester. IT Services will continue to provide updates to the campus community as it works through this process.
Watch for Scam of the Week: Free Star Wars Tickets
Scammers are trying to trick people into getting complimentary tickets for the coming Star Wars Episode VII movie. You may receive emails that ask you to enter sweepstakes, fill out surveys, or get complimentary coupons for movie tickets. Don't fall for them and infect your computer with malware!

As we enter the holiday season, be on the lookout for common scams disguised as Black Friday deals, complimentary Apple Watches, package deliveries, "the Grinch" e-card greetings, or fake refunds, gift cards, and charities, etc. Scammers could be trying to steal your identity or data, infect your computer, or extort you for money. When in doubt, delete the message or contact the IT Services Help Desk at helpdesk@ipfw.edu or 481-6030.

Blue bins with attached fliers will be in various locations throughout November.
