Victory Media, U.S. News & World Report Honor IPFW Programs for Veterans
IPFW received its fifth consecutive designation as a Military Friendly� School from Victory Media. In addition, U.S. News & World Report named IPFW's online degree program as one of the top three Best Online Programs for Veterans in the United States. The Office of Military Student Services was opened at IPFW in October 2010. Jo Vaughan has been the coordinator of the office since its initial stages and supervises daily operations. Enrollment certification is conducted by Mark Haney (lieutenant colonel, retired). Read the news release
Rose Costello Departing IPFW
Rose Costello, director of human resources, has accepted the position of executive director of human resources for Ivy Tech's northeast region. Rose joined IPFW in 2006 in the Development office and moved to Human Resources in 2007. She will be missed, but we are excited for her new opportunity and wish her all of the best. There will be an open house for her in December. Watch for more information to come. Good luck, Rose!
Submit Your Proposal for Service Engagement Summit
The Indiana Campus Compact Service Engagement Summit is a signature event that brings campuses together in celebration of the collective work they do for campus and community engagement. Presentation proposals are now being accepted for the 5th Annual Service Engagement Summit, which will be held in Indianapolis on March 26-- 27, 2015. Submissions incorporating the theme of Supporting Students in Social Ventures: Preparing students for a life of career and service will receive preference. The deadline for submissions is December 12. Presenters will be notified of acceptance by Jan. 16, 2015. Read the details
Service-Learning Faculty Fellows Wanted
Six $500 stipends are available for the professional development of faculty interested in offering service-learning courses in the 2014--15 academic year. The purpose of the faculty fellows program is to encourage faculty to engage in this high-impact pedagogy, offer training and support to new or junior faculty before and during the course, and encourage the exchange of research and ideas about service-learning on a local and state level.The application deadline is Dec. 10, 2014.
