The Inland Coalition was established in March 2007 to convene the health careers employers, educators, and community stakeholders in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties and the Pomona Valley in a coordinated effort to address regional health workforce.

Youth Advocates for Health Access (YAHA) Training begins! The YAHA project recruited 16-24 year old youth to participate in a unique program of training and outreach in health access. Community Hospital of San Bernardino's donation of the training venue, advocates will train for four Saturdays with experts in the field of health access. They include Maribel Nunez, Inland Empire Organizer; Jezebel Urbina, Grants Field Coordinator; and Hazel Lambert, Training Consultant with Advocates for Nurturing Transitions (ANT), Health & Associates. Topics covered so far are immigration, immigration status, effective communication and cultural competency. We've included some photos of the training.~

CalPOST-BAC Advisory Committee Member Application Now Available. The California Post-Baccalaureate (CalPOST-BAC) Program, funded by The California Endowment, will be released later this Fall. MHLAP & LMHSPEP applications cycle is August 3 - September 30th. The Health Professions Education Foundation (HPEF) is excited to share that the Mental Health Loan Assumption Program and Licensed Mental Health Services Provider Education Program loan repayment programs will be open from August 3rd through September 30th 2015. Recipients of the MHLAP award receive up to$10,000 in exchange for a one year service obligation in the public mental health system of California. Recipients of the LMHSPEP award receive up to $15,000 in exchange for a two year service obligation in a qualified facility. For more information visit: www.healthprofessions.ca.gov.~

 Colton High School seeks mentors for health pathway students. The Colton High School Health Education And Learning (HEAL) Academy is seeking health professional mentors for the 2015-2016 school year. There will be a special introductory mentoring event on Thursday, August 13 from 4 - 6 PM which will provide an  overview of the mentoring program at HEAL. You will learn about the time commitment, receive mentoring materials and information on the mentees. Please come to this free event and see how you can participate. The HEAL mentoring program is supported by Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and the Inland Coalition. RSVP on EventBrite.~
