Moreno Valley Nexus kickoff a success. Last Tuesday the
Riverside County Regional Medical Center (RCRMC) was host to nearly 30 health professionals to kick off the Moreno Valley Inland Coalition group. The purpose of the MV Coalition is to support and enhance the development of the health professions pipeline in the Moreno Valley/Riverside area.

Moreno Valley College will co-host this group which will meet on the third Wednesday of each month at RCRMC.
Below is the initial convening and some heath academy students who spoke about the impact of the health pathway programs in their lives. ~~
911 Emergency Careers Bootcamp impacts students. This past week more than 40 students attended a week-long emergency careers day camp  where they had the opportunity learn directly from emergency professionals across many fields and get some hands-on experience. We'll bring you a full report next week! ~~
Call for teacher extern sites. Hosting a teacher extern for 20 hours at your site or agency can have a huge impact on educating students about the health professions and the current needs. Please fill out the interest form if your site may be willing to host a teacher as part of the externship program (see the host site packet). The Inland Coalition will be meeting with teachers in August about possible externships and we need your participation! ~~

Cindy Clark Nursing Education Workshops filling up! This interactive and engaging workshp describes the scope and impact of incivility and provides practical, ready-to-use strategies to foster a civil, professional environment.

 Become a student mentor. The Colton High School Health Education And Learning (HEAL) Academy is seeking health professional mentors for the 2015-2016 school year. This mentoring event on Thursday, August 13 from 4 - 6 PM will provide an overview of the mentoring program at HEAL including time commitment, mentoring materials and the information on the mentees. Hey students, SAVE THE DATE. The 1st annual Teens and Those Who Care Conference will be held on October 8th, 2015. This conference is for teenagers and their parent/foster parent/guardian. Their goal is to educate and encourage teens to make positive changes AND to teach adults how to open up lines of communication to facilitate the growth of their teens.
