Over 30 students and their parents attended an orientation for the Inland Empire Student Ambassador Project. These students will be trained to deliver health-related messages to people in the waiting rooms of the following clinics: Community Health systems, Moreno Valley and Bloomington locations and Kids Come First in Ontario. After 12 hours of training by medical professionals, the students will spend 24 hours in 2-3 hour shifts at the clinic offering prevention messages on topics such as diabetes, hypertension, and personal hygiene. All of the students participating are connected to a health pathway program in the Inland Empire.
| Interviewers: Jim Thomas, Carrie Roy, Jack Sherman, and Scott Clements. |
Students from Palomares Academy of Health Sciences participated in Mock Interviews with members of local service clubs. The students were prepared for the interviews by teacher Rosalind Barba. An overwhelming number of students wanted more of this type of experience!
