The FDA website defines "pharmacy compounding" as "a practice in which a licensed pharmacist combines, mixes, or alters ingredients in response to a prescription to create a medication tailored to the medical needs of an individual patient." A simpler way of understanding this procedure is that a medical care provider determines that someone would benefit more from a customized medication than an "off-the-rack" drug, and the compounding pharmacy fills the prescription for that "made-to-fit" product. Connecticut: Supervisor's Actions Did Not Support Intentional Tort Action; Supervisor Not Alter Ego of Employer. The Supreme Court of Connecticut recently affirmed a trial court's Order granting summary judgment in favor of an employer in a civil action alleging intentional tort filed against it by an injured employee in spite of the employee's contentions that he had been told by his supervisor that he could be fired if he shut down the bagging machine and where he also claimed that the supervisor had instructed him to dislodge jammed bags while the machine was still running...Read it.
