If threads are too damaged to be repaired using standard taps, use a wire thread insert. They are used to return stripped threads to their original size.

If the hole is so badly stripped that the wire thread inserts cannot be used, use thinwall keylocking inserts or heavy duty keylocking inserts. | |
Key-locking Screw Thread Inserts

Newman Tools recommends using keyserts.
If the hole is so badly stripped that you are unable to use wire thread inserts,or keylocking inserts, then you can use solid keylocking inserts.

Finally, if you cannot use wire thread inserts, keylocking inserts,or solid keylocking inserts,
IT IS TIME TO CHANGE THE THREAD!

Joke
For the Last Time
At his annual checkup, a man is told by his physician, that he has contracted a deadly disease and only has twelve hours to live. The good thing was that he was not contagious!
When he gets home, he tells his wife the awful news. She is devastated and says, "Sweetheart, let's make love tonight. it will be the night of your life!"
They make love with a passion; they kiss; and go to sleep.
