Mohr PTA's Newsletter                                                                        April 19, 2015
Good Evening, Mohr Families!

Congratulations again to all Mohr Elementary students that competed in both the Regional and State Destination Imagination (DI) tournaments!  As mentioned in last week, students from "The Five Little Soldiers" team will be at the global competition in May.  One team member was reported incorrectly. Isabelle Lo instead of Isabella Zhang is a member of "The Five Little Soldiers."

Congratulations to a joint Mohr-Lydiksen team of students that will be competing at Globals as well! The team called "F.E.A.R.T.S." includes Ishayu Shikhare, HeeJee Yoon (Mohr), Advay Marathe, Arav Adhikari, Ashley Osterhout and Harshini Ayer (Lydiksen). In addition to preparing a winning challenge, they continue to work on strategies to improve the health of the earth. Great job and best of luck at the competition!

A second grade team from Mohr, Alisal and Fairlands competed at the regional level. "Team Pheonix" is composed of Mihika Deshmukh (Mohr), Shachi Limaye, Vedant Mehta (Fairlands), Christopher Hazell, Gregory Li and Susanna Rittmuller (Alisal). The team was presented with the DaVinci award after completing their challenge. This award is offered to teams for presenting a unique approach to a problem and for displaying exceptional creativity within a challenge. Congratulations on winning this prestigious award!

Have a wonderful week!

AROUND MOHR
Getting Ready For 2015-2016!

Submit Volunteer Forms Early
Parents are requested to fill out and return the Volunteer Clearance Form 2015-16 to the Mohr Office before the current school year ends. These forms must be renewed annually. In August, it will take 2-3 weeks to receive clearance due to the overwhelming amount of forms going through the system in a short amount of time. The early submission will ensure everyone is "ready to go" when school starts again in the fall.

On The Move?
If your child will not return to Mohr in 2015-16, either because of a move or change of schools, please email Mrs. O'Neal informing student's name, grade and reason for not returning.

PPIE Giving Fund Raised Over Half a Million Dollars!

PPIE raised a record $96,000 through last Sunday's PPIE Run. Our Mohr community played a significant role in the success of this event. Congratulations on us!

A total of $515,000 from the PPIE Giving Fund will be donated to PUSD for the 2015-2016 school year. Visit ppie.org or click HERE to learn more about how the funds will be used.

Thank you, Mohr students, parents and staff members for your support.
