Dear Luthiers,

Once again, it's hard to believe it's December. This year, in particular, has been a whirlwind for our team, with Luthierie Camps, Straight Up Strings launch and an uptick in our Signature Mandolin Kit orders -- all of which have kept us happily quite busy!

As we head into a slightly mellower couple of holiday weeks and reflect on our year, we each feel extremely grateful for the community of luthiers, and now players (with the addition of Straight Up Strings), we have the privilege of doing business with each day. Many of you have come to be fellow pickers and friends, and we look forward to meeting more of you at conventions, festivals and jams in 2015.

So thank you for choosing Siminoff Banjo and Mandolin Parts -- as a small family enterprise, we value your business and strive for each interaction to be friendly and personal while providing products that are unequaled in the marketplace.

We do have some announcements in store for 2015, including Straight Up Strings for Banjo endorsements and product line-up changes. Our team has been busy planning these since mid-year and we look forward to sharing these with you in 2015.

Moving on to other news, we are thrilled to share that Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen was nominated for a Grammy award for Best Bluegrass Album. This is especially great news to us because Frank attended Siminoff Luthierie Camp in 2012 and plays the F5 he built at Camp, and finished during the following year at his home shop. As he worked through the completion steps, he shared photos and updates on Facebook and Twitter. Our congratulations to Frank and the Dirty Kitchen band!

Because what we do really is about the music, we are including Frank's Grammy-nominated album, along with CDs that include our Straight Up Strings endorsers in our 2014 Holiday Gift Guide suggestions below.

We wish you and yours a very happy holiday season and a wonderful, healthy, and prosperous new year!

Thanks for building with us!

The Siminoff Crew

P.S. We'll be taking a short break around Christmas, so orders placed after 12pm on Friday, December 19 will beginning shipping on Monday, December 29. (This excludes gift certificate orders, which generate a code automatically 24/7.)

P.P.S. If you're local to our area, or have friends that are, please do check-out (and share) this January 31, 2015 House Concert put on by Amy and Kali: An Evening with 10 String Symphony.

These balanced downpressure strings for banjo and mandolin were easily our top-seller of 2014 -- and for good reason. Each string is calculated for balanced downpressure at the bridge, not by choosing an arbitrary gauge. Hear the difference: Balanced tone, sustain, timbre. For every note of every chord... Straight Up Strings for Mandolin are endorsed by: Phil Barker, Caleb Klauder and Adam Roszkiewicz. (Banjo string endorsers to be announced in 2015). Order Part #2500 (mandolin $8.95/set + P&H) or Part #2600 (banjo - $7.25/set plus P&H). 3-pack and 6-pack discounts.
