Fantastic Event Marks Finale of 90th Anniversary
On May 1, The City Beautiful traveled back in time to make history while honoring it. Under the direction of world-renowned conductor Eduardo Marturet, concertgoers enjoyed the extraordinary performance of the Miami Symphony Orchestra at the bottom of the Venetian Pool, just like it was done in the 1920s. Get Latest Miracle Mile & Giralda Ave Streetscape Updates
A new website has been created to provide the latest information on the Miracle Mile and Giralda Avenue Streetscape project which is currently underway. This website is the effort of the project's Construction Manager entrusted to coordinate all things related to project information, including weekly construction and traffic updates and construction photos, as well as a project timeline. Citizens can sign up for email updates directly on this website. All local businesses will remain open during construction. Centralized valet parking is only $5 per day. Read more...

City to Purchase Five Properties for Passive Parks

Reminder: Remove Buttons on Public Right-of-Way By July 12
The City of Coral Gables has passed a new ordinance that prohibits buttons, pyramids, reflectors and other permanent encroachments in the public right-of-way without approval from the City. Residents must remove all buttons, pyramids, reflectors and other encroachments from the public right-of-way swale adjacent to your property by July 12, 2016. If these encroachments are not removed within 90 days, the City will remove the items and assess the cost to the property owner. Read more...

If You Build It, They Will Come: Adult Activity Center
If you build it, they will come to the new City of Coral Gables Adult Activity Center. Construction is in progress for the center's new 9,682 sq. ft. space on the ground floor of The Palace Coral Gables, located at 2 Andalusia Avenue. Don't Remove Sewer Caps During a Backup
The City of Coral Gables wants to ensure that residents and visitors are not exposed to raw sewage caused by the removal of sewer caps during a backup. A new City ordinance approved in February imposes heavy fines to those in violation of this law. Certain businesses within the City are removing these sewer caps as a temporary solution during a backup. Violators of this ordinance will now be issued stiff fines from Code Enforcement. Learn How to Swim at Venetian Pool
It's important that children learn how to swim at a young age. Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury-related death among children ages 14 and under. Before your child jumps into a swimming pool this summer, make sure he or she knows how to swim. The Venetian Pool is offering American Red Cross Swimming Lessons for children ages 5 years old and above. The classes are taught by volunteers of the Venetian Aquatic Club. Traffic: FDOT is working on roadway construction of State Road 90/S.W. 8 Street from SW 39 Avenue to east of NW 34 Avenue and at the intersection of LeJeune Road. The project is commencing on May and will take about five months to complete. Lane closures will occur only during non-peak hours on nights and weekends. Allow extra time to reach your destination. Obey all posted signs and speed limits.
