Street Resurfacing Continues in North Gables

The City of Coral Gables began repaving streets again this month, with the majority of the work occurring in neighborhoods between Coral Way and Bird Road. These streets were selected based on pavement evaluations and is a continuation of the Neighborhood Renaissance Program, which aims at making neighborhoods the most livable they can be. Construction crews are working expeditiously to minimize the inconvenience to residents and commuters. Everyone will benefit from the continued elimination of a backlog as the City will be able to stay current with street resurfacing needs as they arise. Vintage Coral Gables
Meet H. George Fink, George Merrick's first cousin. He was a trained architect who began his Miami career working for Carl Fisher and architect August Geiger. His job was to design buildings that matched Denman Fink's evocative drawings. George Fink and H.H. Mundy, who created Poinciana Place, designed all the first coral rock homes that still stand today in Coral Gables. His work studio at 2506 Ponce de Leon is now property of the City of Coral Gables.
