If you're a Coral Gables resident or small business owner and have a question or concern about any city department or process, talk to Tony Silio. He is the City of Coral Gables' new Ombudsman. With 28 years of experience in the Building Department, his focus is troubleshooting permit issues in the construction and public works areas. This is what Tony does best.

New Trees To Be Planted In Residential Areas

The City's Tree Succession Project is underway: more than 3,000 trees and palms will be planted in residential areas. The new trees will be planted in five zones from north to south, and west to east, a process that will take 10-12 months to complete. The Underline Needs Your Feedback

the underline The Underline Project will transform the underutilized land below Miami's Metrorail into a 10-mile linear park and urban trail. Two public meetings are scheduled to get comments on the proposed design: Tuesday, June 23, 6-8 p.m. at Frost Museum of Science, and Thursday, June 25, 6-8 p.m. at Temple Judea.

A Special Homecoming for Our Local Veterans

veterans welcomed Members of the Coral Gables Fire Department participated in an emotional welcome for World War II and Korean War veterans, recently. Firefighters and paramedics, along with K9 Emir, welcomed these terminally ill local heroes as they arrived at MIA from their last Honor Flight. The war veterans were in Washington D.C. to visit memorials built in their honor.

Celebrating 50 Years of Head Start

A rose bush planting ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2 p.m. at the War Memorial Youth Center to commemorate 50 years of the creation of Head Start, the largest federal program to deliver high-quality early learning opportunities to infants, toddlers and their families. Read more...

Hundreds of people attended Taste of the Gables at the Westin Colonnade Hotel to launch Coral Gables Restaurant Week. They sampled gourmet bites from Coral Gables restaurants such as Morton's, Divino Ceviche, Cibo, Bricktops, Uvaggio and Bulla. Restaurant Week runs until June 28, 2015. Read more...
