City Celebrates 90 Years of a Dream Realized

Frank G. Fernandez Named Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Safety

 

Frank G. Fernandez has been named Assistant City Manager/Director of Public Safety for the City of Coral Gables. The appointment was made by City Manager Cathy Swanson-Rivenbark.  Mr. Fernandez will begin his new role on Monday, May 18. For more information, click here.

Honoring Our Fallen Officers

 

On Thursday, May 7 at 4 p.m.at Merrick Park (across from City Hall),  Coral Gables will hear the boom of a 21-gun salute in remembrance of nine police officers who died in the line of duty while protecting our community. Note: Seating will begin at 3:30 p.m. For more information, click here

Granada Golf Course To Be Closed For Renovations

 

The Granada Golf Course will be closed to the public starting May 18 for the much-anticipated $500,000 restoration and renovation improvements to the course and golf facilities, which are expected to take approximately five months. For more information, click here.

Team Gables Shows Indomitable Spirit 

 

The City of Coral Gables won the City Employees Division for our Women's Team, Men's Team and Coed Team at the Mercedes Benz Corporate Run in Downtown Miami April 23. Despite the gloomy skies, more than 90 City of Coral Gables employees came out in force spearheaded by City Attorney Craig Leen, team captain Christina Veliz and co-captain Art Centurion. 

 

May is "Older Americans Month"  

Head over to the City's Adult Activity Center at the War Memorial Youth Center, 405 University Drive, and celebrate "Older Americans Month" by taking an exercise class, foreign language course and wellness workshop, or joining the "young viejos" softball league, and much more.
