We "Slam" in Verse!

VA Partners With Middlebury
|
Descriptive phrases flew fast and furiously as ten Vermont Academy students and one faculty member participated in the first campus-wide poetry slam, moderated by Geof Hewitt, the "Slam Poet Laureate of Vermont" on May 6. Each contestant brought an original piece of poetry, performed it on stage in front of the VA community, and waited as they were rated by several of their peers in the audience. The judging was tough but when the dust settled, junior Molly Brennan had taken top honors. See Molly's performance >

Vermont Academy and its World Languages Department are proud to announce our upcoming participation in Middlebury Interactive, an innovative educational program that will further enhance language learning at Vermont Academy. Middlebury Interactive will provide Vermont Academy students unlimited access to its web-based world language courses in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Latin and Spanish. These online courses will compliment VA's more traditional classroom instruction. Read more >

Wildcats Make the Leap to College

The Vermont Academy Alumni Association is organizing an Alumni Network and Mentor Program on the professional networking site LinkedIn. Crafted specifically for the Vermont Academy community, the program will support communications among VA graduates seeking advice about college choices, graduate school opportunities, employment, career advancement, job searches and more. Importantly, participants in the mentoring program may participate in on-campus programs with currently enrolled students. Read more and connect > |

If looking for evidence of continued growth in VA's athletics, look no further than the number of Wildcats moving on to competition at the next level. Well over a third of the Class of 2013 will be playing in college come next year. Vermont Academy Athletic Director Mike Atkins is impressed. "This is by far the most students we have committed to college sports in some time. We wish them all the luck as they move on."
