Sponsored by Vermont Academy's Global Programs, ten students and their faculty chaperones spent a life-changing two weeks in Belize over March break. From snorkeling through the beautiful Hol Chan Marine Reserve, to exploring ancient Mayan caves and hiking through unspoiled rainforest, to helping Mayan villagers rebuild a demolished nursery, students learned first-hand about the rich ecological diversity of this small Central American country.  Read more >

Oliver Hoblitzelle is a freshman from Watertown, Massachusetts. In his first year at the Academy, Oliver is a member of the soccer and freeski teams and he is learning to rock climb this spring. In the classroom, Oliver is a High Honors student who utilizes our learning skills program. He also loves to film and edit videos and has his own YouTube channel. Oliver looked at three boarding schools when deciding where to attend high school. He chose Vermont Academy.  Find out why > 

 

High School met High Fashion in Nita Choukas Theater recently as seniors Marina Porl and Colleen Donahue culminated months of planning and hard work with the presentation of a full-fledged fashion show as the final project in their Senior Seminar Independent Study on clothing design and fashion merchandizing. No detail was overlooked in the production of the black & white themed event, right down to the colors of the refreshments served (Oreo cookies!) Learn more about their project. >

As spring arrives in Saxtons River, the Admissions Office hears from families who have completed their applications within the first-round deadline and received their acceptances. Many of these students have enrolled and will join the Vermont Academy community next fall. As the newest additions to our dynamic student body, each of these students will contribute to our tightly knit community.
