Sponsored by Vermont Academy's Global Programs, ten students and their faculty chaperones spent a life-changing two weeks in Belize over March break. From snorkeling through the beautiful Hol Chan Marine Reserve, to exploring ancient Mayan caves and hiking through unspoiled rainforest, to helping Mayan villagers rebuild a demolished nursery, students learned first-hand about the rich ecological diversity of this small Central American country. The Class of 2013 officially began the final stretch of their Vermont Academy careers with the annual "Kick off to Graduation" dinner held at Chivers Center on April 1st. In honor of the evening, alumni were asked to submit their suggestions for a Vermont Academy Bucket List ~ those experiences the seniors must enjoy before they depart campus. Spring Athletics Season Forecast
|
It seems Head of School Sean Brennan is everywhere these days. Over the past nine months, Sean has traveled on three continents and visited alumni and parents in five countries, eleven states and the District of Columbia. Over that period of time, he also managed the school, taught an English elective, cheered at dozens of games, attended concerts and theater productions and generally maintained high visibility all over campus. The grass is starting to green up on the fields and our first home games of the season are in the books. Vermont Academy spring season coaches are seeking to carry forward the momentum of our successful winter athletics season and to this end, several teams and coaches headed south over March break to get some early season training and test their skills against the competition. Baseball, spring crew, and boys' varsity lacrosse all hit the road and gained valuable experience. This season's preview >
