80s In The Park

I have just returned from another 80s In The Park.
Held in August this year in Melbourne Florida....nothing can go wrong here, right? 
Tropical storm Erica had some other ideas. Due to rain, most of the bands scheduled to play outside did not get the chance. 
Thursday night we got to see a little bit of the Bullet Boys...about 4 songs, before the 10pm noise ordinance cut it off. This event has still not figured out how to cut the opening act's time so that the headliner gets to play a full set.
The event was a little light on national acts and pretty heavy on tribute and up and coming bands. 
The only 80s bands on Friday were Asia, with John Payne (there were NO original members in this line up) and Firehouse as the headliner.
Saturday brought La Guns, Killer Dwarfs, Kix and Slaughter, all putting on fantastic sets, the high light for me, of course was KIX.
Sunday, a very rainy day, consisted of Femme Fatale, Autograph, Kip Winger acoustic and Lita Ford. Autograph kicked ass and Kip is great. We didn't hang around for Lita, but heard she killed it too.
Bottom line on this event...we have more fun hanging at the pool and bar at the hotel with the bands. This year all the bands stayed at the "host" hotel, so, we pretty much saw all the acts wandering around at some point.
FYI, the Killer Dwarfs are all super nice guys and really love their fans. Check them out if you have the chance.
